Mammoth: Top to Bottom

Yes, it's another entry in my critically-acclaimed 'Top-to-Bottom' video series, in which I go to the top of a ski area and ski all the way down to the bottom!

What an absolute blast this day was: July 2 at Mammoth Mountain. I figured if ever there was a year to get up there for some July turns, this was it, and I sure wasn't disappointed.

Snow coverage is still terrific, if a bit brown in places. Temperatures began cool but soon skyrocketed, with a high at the mountain probably touching 80°. I would describe it as kind of like water skiing, only not as cold. A great way to close out an amazing season. Happy 4th of July everyone!

Great video! I did a top to bottom video at Mammoth this year, but went from 11,053 foot summit gondola to 7,950 foot Eagle Lodge. It's 1,000 feet lower than Main and the run is a lot longer, but you definitely can't do it in July. :-)
