Waterman: Very Thin

I was expecting thin coverage at the base of Waterman, but the big surprise was how little snow there was around 8000'. It was barely skiable at the base of the mountain today, and not much better up top.
Okay: the skiing was terrible.
At least Matt T and I enjoyed some fresh air and sunshine. Maybe the peaks farther east did better in this last storm? There just isn't much snow on the Waterman Crest right now.
As for what's coming next, model runs haven't yet settled into agreement. I've seen big forecasts and also pretty meh ones for SoCal. Sentiment seems to be we will continue seeing storms well into March, but they may all continue skewing north in terms of greatest impact.
Islip/Throop looked more appealing—at least from a distance. BP has to be better than this, if you can get to it. Baldy's west face looked good but basically the whole mountain is under a Forest Service closure order; Baldy Lifts are open but probably not where you want to take your good skis until more snow falls.
Hopefully this coming week delivers.

It's another one of those winters where Tahoe coverage seems to be great, but y'all are not getting enough.

Surprising. Hoping the rain the last couple of days builds a bit of a base.
