Highway 395

Highway 395

Wait for the traffic to clear, jump into the middle of the road, take a quick picture. No, it's probably not wise to encourage these things, but wide-angle lenses do create their own temptations.

The 395 is an incredibly scenic highway.

Passing Little Lake northbound, some kind of magic happens every time I catch that first glimpse of the High Sierra. As that massive Southern Sierra sentinel, Olancha Peak, makes instantly clear: we're not in Kansas anymore.

Shot with a Nikon D70, Owens Valley, California.
