I find I'm gravitating toward lighter and lighter backpacks. In the climbing/technical category, Black Diamond's Quantum remains my favorite overnight pack, but you can't get them anymore—and you can't have mine.

Black Diamond's Speed 22 is a terrific frameless daypack that expands and can carry skis A-frame style. For smaller packs still, I like Black Diamond's Bullet and Trail Zip.
